Abstract
The variations of microstructure and elastic moduli during the ageing treatment of Ti27Nb8Zr alloy are investigated by means of metallography and non-destructive testing. On the basis, the influence of microstructure on the elastic moduli is analyzed and discussed further. The results showed that with the increasing ageing temperature, the elastic moduli of Ti27Nb8Zr alloy decreased monotonously but the Poisson's ratio increased. The ageing treatment of Ti27Nb8Zr alloy resulted in higher elastic moduli than the solution treatment. Meanwhile, a series of complex transformations occurred under different ageing condition. Many kinds of new phases formed and contributed to the variations in elastic moduli of Ti27Nb8Zr alloy.
