Abstract
▶ Heavily cold rolled and then annealed Fe3Al is examined on rolling plane and transverse sections during recovery and recrystallization. ▶ {0 0 1}〈1 1 0〉 and {1 1 1}〈1 1 0〉 textures tend to form during rolling, with easier recrystallization occurring in regions with {1 1 1}〈1 1 0〉 texture. ▶ Higher strains and lower annealing temperatures reduce the final grain size. ▶ Finer microstructures lead to increased strength with improved ductility.
