Abstract
Tensile properties and pseudoelastic behaviour were assessed for a Ti–25Nb–3Zr–3Mo–2Sn alloy. Significant pseudoelastic behaviour was observed in both solution treated and solution treated/aged conditions which was associated with the formation of the martensic α″ phase. The solution treated condition displays the greatest pseudoelasticity. Straining of the alloy leads to a reduction in the Young's modulus proportionate to the magnitude of the strain.
