Abstract
â¶ The study investigates the microstructures and tensile properties of the as-cast and heat treated Mg-7Zn-5Al based alloys with 1â¼6Â wt.% Sn addition. â¶ Results show that Sn addition refines the Mg-Zn-Al eutectic phase. â¶ The Sn-containing alloys exhibit excellent heat resistance. â¶ The aged Mg-7Zn-5Al-2Sn alloy shows optimal mechanical properties. â¶ Ageing treatment can further improve the tensile strength of the studied alloy.
