Abstract

The microstructural evolution of W83.3–In16.7 mixture during mechanical alloying (MA) was characterized by means of X-ray diffractometry, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) as well as computer simulation. Experimental results indicated that W83.3In16.7 solid solution was synthesized by MA. W83.3In16.7 solid solution was stable until it decomposed into W and In at about 600 °C.
