Abstract
Symmetric 〈1 1 0〉 type Al grain boundaries are experimentally and theoretically investigated. It is demonstrated that Ga segregation can be understood by incorporating the anisotropy of the relaxed grain boundary volumes. The feasibility of Ga film formation has been illustrated by applying a continuum model.
