Abstract

PPV nanofibers were fabricated by electrospinning PPV precursor solution in solvent mixtures of ethanol/water. PPV nanofibers with smooth surface were obtained when the ethanol/water ratio was 70/30 (w/w) and the average diameter was 653 nm. The fluorescence peak positions of fibers were in 515 and 550 nm, which were the same as that of PPV film. The morphology of fibers has been characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and fluorescence microscopy.
