Abstract
It is shown how the methodology and theoretical relationships developed in the framework of the O-lattice theory can be applied for study of martensite interfaces containing a single set of dislocations. The observed orientation relationship, the habit plane orientation, matching or mismatching of certain sets of planes in the habit plane of lath martensite in an Fe–Ni–Mn alloy can be explained consistently by the present approach. Attention is drawn to the use of measurable Δg vectors for characterizing the habit plane and for interpreting plane matching in the habit plane.
