Abstract
The superplastic deformation behaviour of coarse grained (600–650 μm) Fe–28Al–3Cr alloy was studied by strain rate change test at 873–1273 K under a strain rate of about 10−2 to 10−4 s−1. The alloy showed superplastic behaviour above 1073 K with strain rate sensitivity values (m) above 0.3. The detailed microscopic studies showed recovery and dynamic recrystallization as micromechanism responsible for superplastic behaviour.
