Abstract
•The SU(3) Schwinger boson formalism has been used.•The quadrupole moment was calculated.•The dynamical quadrupolar structure factor was calculated.
Using the SU(3) Schwinger bosons formalism, in a mean field approximation, I have calculated the dynamical quadrupole structure factor in the ferroquadrupolar phase of the S=1 Heisenberg model with bilinear and biquadratic exchange interactions on the triangular lattice. I have calculated the dynamical quadrupolar structure factor, which in principle could be measurable using resonant inelastic x-ray scattering, and provide evidence for the existence of spin-nematic order. There is a possibility that my calculations could be applied to the compound NiGa2S4.
