Abstract
We report on the giant magnetoelectric effect in Y-type hexaferrite Ba0.5Sr1.5Zn2(Fe1âxInx)12O22 (x=0.08). Large electric field tuning of magnetism is observed near room-temperature. Electrically controlled magnetization reversal is observed at 315Â K. The sign of the magnetization exhibits an on-off behavior with the electric field. The scanning probe microscopy results show direct and powerful evidence of electric control of magnetism at room temperature.
