This paper presents the results of Raman scattering studies of ZnSe1−xOxZnSe1−xOx with an oxygen composition ranging from x=0% to 12% at room temperature. Optical phonons were identified and analyzed from alloys with a varying amount of oxygen in their composition. An enhancement of the multi-phonon signal was found in samples with a higher oxygen composition. This is attributed to resonance Raman scattering caused by the reduction in the band gap. Experiments results are discussed with reference to the photoluminescence and piezoreflectance spectra.
