Abstract
► Nanoscale and edge effects on electronic properties of graphene are theoretically discussed. ► Electronic states of graphene nanoribbons are analyzed based on tight-binding model. ► Ferrimagnetic edge spin polarized states are reviewed using mean field approach. ► Half-metallic states due the effect of electric field or edge chemical modification are discussed.
