Abstract
► Thermal rectification in a two segment rod is investigated with Fourier's law. ► The effect of the Kapitza resistance at the boundary of the segments is included. ► The Kapitza resistance enhances thermal rectification. ► The Kapitza resistance is crucial for the rods of submillimeter length. ► The results obtained can be applied to the thermal rectification of a Ge/Si rod.
