Abstract
⺠The thermal diffusion of carbon atoms in iron nanoparticles has been studied. ⺠The formation of the carbon clusters can start with the particle partially saturated with carbon atoms. ⺠It is not necessary for the catalytic particle to be saturated with carbon in order to start the nucleation process.
