Abstract
⺠Magnetic and electronic properties of TM atoms on Si(001) are studied. ⺠A decreasing spin moment as TM varies from Cr to Fe are observed. ⺠The adsorption energy increased as TM varies from Cr to Fe. ⺠The spin coupling changes from AFM to FM as the 3d electrons increased. ⺠The silicon surface becomes metallic for the adsorption of TM wires.
