Abstract
Temperature and compositional dependences of the piezoelectric coefficient d33d33 and dielectric permittivity ε33σ for (001)-oriented (1−x)Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3–xPbTiO3 flux-grown single crystals have been studied in the wide compositional range (0.10≤x≤0.40)(0.10≤x≤0.40). The effect of multiple configurations of the 71∘ (109∘) domains existing in the ferroelectric 3m3m phase on the apparent values of d33d33 and ε33σ for composition x=0.33x=0.33 close to the morphotropic phase boundary is considered. The results obtained enable one to better define the compositional dependence d33(x)d33(x) and to interpret inconsistencies in d33d33 values reported in the literature.
