Abstract
The magnetic and crystal structures of hematite (αα-Fe2O3) in the form of nanoparticles with a mean diameter of 157(2) Å were synthesized within a porous glass and were studied by neutron and X-ray diffraction. The co-existence of two magnetic phases with different directions of magnetic moments, which in the bulk hematite are observed above and below the Morin transition was supposed.
