Abstract
An extensive study of magnetic and dielectric properties have been investigated on a series of nano silicon dioxide (10 nm) with the addition of 2, 4, 6, 8 wt% in Li0.35Cd0.3 Fe2.35O4 prepared using the sol–gel technique. The saturation magnetic moment (Ms) value for a pristine sample has been measured at 73.7 emu /g and it varies non-monotonically for different SiO2 additions in LiCd ferrite. A maximum value of 79 emu /g has been found for 2 wt% nano SiO2/LiCd ferrite. These sol–gel prepared samples exhibit a markedly increased value in real part of dielectric constant (ε′ε′) and a lowest loss tangent (tanδ)(tanδ) measured in the frequency range 1 KHz–1 MHz, better results in LiCd ferrite being found rarely.
