Abstract
M4,5-edges XAS and XMCD spectra of Ce in Ce2Fe14B obtained at 300 K: (a) μ+ (μâ) is the normalized absorption spectrum for (anti-) parallel magnetic field and light helicity, μ+ + μâ is the summed XAS spectrum, and the short-dash-dot line is the Shirley background for edge-jump removal before the integration; (b) μâ â μ+ is the XMCD spectrum calculated from the spectra shown in (a), and â«(μâ â μ+) is the integration of the XMCD spectrum, which corresponds to the right-hand scale; (c) shows the separated contributions of 4f 1 configuration and 4f 0 configuration in the XAS spectrum after subtraction the Shirley background and their individual integrations, which correspond to the right-hand scale. The p and q shown in (b) and the r1 shown in (c) are the three integrals needed in the sum-rule analysis.
