Abstract
â¶ Precipitation hardening (PH) in Ti-rich SMA ribbon is tested using nanoindentation. â¶ The PH effect comes from the coexistence of nanoscale Ti2Ni/Ti3Ni4 precipitates. â¶ For PHed ribbon, the hardness increment reaches 1Â GPa after aging at 773Â K for 1Â h. â¶ The pseudoelasticiy (PE) of the PHed ribbons is also tested by a nanoindenter. â¶ The PHed ribbons can strengthen the matrix and promote their SME/PE properties.
