Abstract
► Mg75Cu13.33Y6.67Zn5 BMG composite shows a significant plastic strain of about 19% and high compressive strength of about 1040 MPa. ► The bio-corrosion resistance of the BMG composite is much higher than the AZ31 crystalline alloy. ► The glass matrix can act as a corrosion barrier to the corrosion propagation. ► The composite presents a uniform corrosion morphology with micro-scale uniformly distributed corrosion pits.
