Abstract
⺠Polycrystalline Gd1âxSmxIn3 series crystallize in the cubic AuCu3 crystal structure. ⺠The lattice parameter a increases with Gd/Sm substitution. ⺠The value of the Néel temperature (TN) decreases from 47 K (x = 0.0) to 17 K (x = 1.0). ⺠Below TN an additional magnetic phase transition is observed. ⺠Gd/Sm substitution causes the appearing of intermediate valence of samarium ions.
