Abstract
⺠Fracture toughness of a new TiAITa alloy with convoluted microstructure is measured. ⺠Measurements are performed at room and high temperature. ⺠For comparision, same is done on toughest (fully lamellar) know microstructure. ⺠Toughness values for the convoluted and lamellar microstructures are close. ⺠This is because the same toughening mechanisms are operative.
