Abstract
The properties and the use of the alloy Pyroferal©, which is based on iron aluminide Fe–Al and which was developed in Czechoslovakia in the 1950s of the last century to replace cast iron highly alloyed by nickel and chromium are described. The basic information from the sources, mostly written in Czech, is summarized.
