Abstract
Molecular dynamics simulations have been employed to study the mechanical response of metallic amorphous/amorphous composites under plastic deformation conditions. The composites are formed by metallic glass domains characterized by different mechanical properties and separated by an interface. The application of a shear stress induces the formation of a shear band, the shape of which depends on the mechanical properties of glassy phases and on the mutual orientation between the interface and the plane along which the shear stress is applied. Such behavior has been studied for different interface orientations and glassy systems.
