Abstract
Gibbs energy models of indium–nickel phases are used to predict new experimental data on indium activities. A recently reported study on measurements of solid In–Ni alloys by the electromotive force method is critically evaluated. Agreement between prediction and the new experimental data is very satisfactory. A thermodynamic analysis is carried out taking into consideration all experimental data on indium activities for the indium–nickel system accessible in the literature. Reported discrepancies between experimental data from different studies for In-rich intermetallics are resolved.
