Abstract
The jerky flow of long-range ordered 18R Cu-Zn-Al single crystals is studied on compressive deformation tests between 293 and 523Â K. The results are analysed in terms of the Portevin-Le Chatelier effect, and the apparent activation energy for this and other LRO alloys is discussed in relation to a dislocation interaction and diffusion model.
