Abstract
•We performed the X-ray diffraction study of atomic structure of Hf-W amorphous alloys.•The topological short-range order is constant in the whole compositional region.
Using the X-ray diffraction method, the atomic structure of Hf100 − xWx (x = 16, 36, 48, 57, 61 and 68 at.%) amorphous alloys was studied. The parameters of topological short-range order were obtained: the radii of coordination spheres, the coordination number of the first sphere, and the mean-square deviation of atomic positions in the first sphere. It was established that the basic parameters of topological short-range order do not depend on the composition of the alloy.
