Abstract
⺠Nb and Nb-Mo alloy tips are used to introduce ultrasonic vibrations in molten Al. ⺠Nb-Mo tip has a higher resistance to cavitation erosion and a longer life span. ⺠Nb-Mo tip shows a superior ability to produce cavitation in molten Al. ⺠Nb-Mo alloy is a more promising material to make the tips for ultrasonic casting.
