Abstract
⺠Oxidation resistance of (W1 â xCrx)90Nb10 alloys scales with Cr content at â¤Â 1200 °C. ⺠Damage caused by cyclic oxidation is more severe than that by isothermal exposure. ⺠Cyclic exposure of (W0.7Cr0.3)90Nb10 at 1200 °C shows mass-loss by WO3 vaporization. ⺠Formation of ternary oxides in oxide scales helps in protection against oxidation. ⺠Optimum Cr/W ratio is required for oxidation resistance of (W1 â xCrx)90Nb10 alloys.
