Abstract
Studies have been carried out on the adsorption behaviour of WO42− ions onto strong basic anion-exchange resin (type 201 × 7) in highly concentrated tungstate solutions. The saturated adsorption capacity was determined as 140 mg/ml wet resin. Effects of initial tungstate solution concentration, temperature and resin particle size were investigated, respectively, on the adsorption rate of WO42− ions. The results indicated that the whole adsorption reaction corresponded to the Quadratic Driving-Force Model, and the grain diffusion was the controlling step. The total kinetic equation, which could be used to describe the adsorption behaviour in wide concentration range, was determined as−ln1−ηt2=1.03×10−4×WO31/2×exp−0.084WO3+40.28/RT×r0−2×t.
