Abstract
In the paper, Mo2C doped WC-TiC-Ni cemented carbide is prepared by vacuum sintering. The effect of Mo2C addition level on the microstructure and mechanical properties is investigated. After the addition of Mo2C, core-rim structure is founded, and the wettability is improved. Furthermore, the WC grains are refined, indicating that Mo2C is an effective grain growth inhibitor. With the increase of Mo2C content, the hardness and transverse-rupture strength of the cemented carbide are improved. The results obtained in this study extend the knowledge on Ni bonded cemented carbide.
