Abstract
In order to control WC grain size and get a microstructure with fine grain size during the sintering process, WC grain growth in WC–Co cemented carbide was researched. The research includes theoretical calculation and experiment. Through analysis, in the sintering process the important factors are the sintering temperature and time. The results of the calculation and experiment showed that the grain size increases with the high temperature and long time. A quantitative relationship between WC grain size sintered and sintering temperature and time was preliminarily obtained and Grain Growth Diagram (GGD) for WC–Co system was firstly built.
