Abstract
•Single crystal of U2RhSi3 grown by the Czochralski pulling method.•Crystal structure found to be fully ordered derivative of the AlB2-type.•Long-range ferromagnetic ordering at odds with literature data.
A Czochralski-grown single crystal of U2 RhSi3 has been studied by means of x-ray diffraction, magnetization, electrical resistivity and heat capacity measurements. The phase was revealed to crystallize with a fully ordered crystal structure of the U2 RuSi3-type. Our results implies long-range ferromagnetic ordering in the compound that sets in below TC = 24 K.
