Abstract

•Polyaniline-BaFe12O19–CoFe2O4 composite powders were successfully prepared.•There exists exchange coupling between BaFe12O19 and CoFe2O4.•The maximum reflection loss of the composite is −36.4 dB at 9.8 GHz.

Polyaniline-BaFe12O19–CoFe2O4 composite powders were successfully prepared via an in-situ polymerization method. The phase composition, morphology and electromagnetic properties of the as-prepared composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission election microscope (TEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and vector network analyzer (VNA). The microwave absorbing property can be obviously enhanced by the introduction of CoFe2O4 and the maximum reflection loss of the composite is −36.4 dB at 9.8 GHz compared with the pure BaFe12O19 combined with polyaniline.
