Abstract
The SnxAl2.5FeCoNiCu (x = 0, 0.03, 0.05, 0.07, 0.1) multi-component alloys were prepared by arc melting in an argon atmosphere. Their microstructure and mechanical properties were investigated and the effects of different Sn content on microstructure and properties were studied. When Sn content is small, the crystal structure of SnxAl2.5FeCoNiCu alloys is BCC + Order BCC crystal structure. With increasing Sn content, a new Ni17Sn3 phase appeared in grain boundary. The proper Sn content can enhance the strength and ductility of the alloys, but the excessive Sn addition will reduce the mechanical properties. When x = 0.05, the stress and strain of the alloys reach the maximum values of 1779.5 MPa and 7.6% respectively.
