Abstract
Platinum containing 11 at.% zirconium is shown to undergo the A8B ordering transformation, forming Pt8Zr with the Pt8Ti structure. The order/disorder transformation temperature for this alloy is determined to be 1068.8 °C ± 2.5 °C. The kinetics of this transformation is rapid, unlike other reported Pt8X alloys.
