Abstract

•BPZT ceramics were prepared by normal and two-stage sintering technology.•Comparative study of impedance of BPZT was done.•Enhancement in the grain and grain boundary resistivity is observed.

Here we are reporting the effect of two-stage sintering on electrical properties of the Ba0.80Pb0.20Ti0.94Zr0.06O3 (BPZT) ceramics. For the two-stage sintered sample, small change in morphology in the microstructure and enhancement in the grain and grain boundary resistivity is observed. Complex impedance analysis has been used to demonstrate the improved electrical properties for two-stage sintered BPZT ceramics which is useful for high temperature capacitor applications. The activation energy is measured for both samples to demonstrate the conduction mechanism.
