- Rod-like Gd2SiO5 synthesized by heat treatment of the hydrothermally obtained powder.
- Effect of various growth parameters on the final phase has been studied.
- Evolution of the desired phase Gd2SiO5 has been studied by non-resonant Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction.
- Ce doped Gd2SiO5 with higher aspect ratio shows luminescence in the blue region.
- Leaf like Gd4.67 (SiO4)3O can also be synthesized by minor variation in the growth condition.
