Abstract
The effect of spraying distance, aging duration and loading on the luminescence intensity of plasma sprayed (Tm3+Â +Â Dy3+) co-doped YSZ (yttria stabilized zirconia) coatings are investigated. The porosity fraction of coatings shows an increase tendency with increasing spraying distance, while the luminescence intensity exhibits the inverse tendency. The phase composition and emission spectra of coatings change with the variation in the aging time. There is more monoclinic and cubic zirconia with the increment of aging time. New cracks appear in the coating during the loading process, and further the luminescent intensity shows a fluctuation tendency during the coupon is bending. The emission intensity of coatings is affected by the porosity fraction and the phase composition.
