Abstract
Highlights
- We report improved gas sensing properties of Fe-HAp films via heavy ion irradiation.
- HAp films are tailored by addition of Fe ion as well as irradiation with variable ion fluence.
- SHI irradiated substrate sense the CO and CO2 gases at relatively lower temperature.
- Response and gas uptake capacity of sensors is improved for appropriate fluence 3Â ÃÂ 1011Â ions/cm2.
- The enhanced sensor properties are attributed due to the surface modification by SHI.
