Abstract
► A stable liquid phase separation occurs in Cu-Zr-Ag system. ► The master alloy samples were cast in a wedge shaped copper mold, in order to obtain a gradient of cooling rate. ► The shape of separated melt, its size and distribution were investigated. ► Three microstructures can be distinguished during the liquid separation process as a function of Ag-rich liquid.
