Abstract
Novel white emitting phosphors, Sn0.5−xMnxZr2(PO4)3, could be prepared by a solid-state method under controlled calcinations conditions. The synthesized samples were evaluated by XRD, SEM and their luminescent properties. The excitation bands of the phosphors ranged from 240 nm to 290 nm. The emission bands of the Sn0.5−xMnxZr2(PO4)3 (x = 0.1-0.4) consists of two peaks at 390 nm and 550 nm. The intensities of the two emission peaks could be adjusted by the content of Sn2+ and Mn2+ ions. Sn0.1Mn0.4Zr2(PO4)3 (x = 0.4) showed the chromaticity coordinate of (0.259, 0.322) as one of a promising single near white emitting phosphor.
