Abstract
- γ-Mg(BH4)2 becomes disordered after ball milling under 100 bar H2 for 2 h.
- As-received and milled γ-Mg(BH4)2 decompose via different reaction pathways.
- Decomposition of milled γ-Mg(BH4)2 is accompanied by the release of B2H6 and H2.
- Ball milling gives particles with 'cleaner' surfaces that may promote B2H6 release.
