Abstract
⺠W-30 vol.% HfC cermets were prepared from in situ powder by SPS. ⺠The in situ method offered a uniform HfC dispersion in the microstructure. ⺠Complete (Hf,W)C solid-solution phase formed readily in the in situ sample. ⺠Improved physical and mechanical properties were obtained from in situ samples.
