Abstract

A new Fe-based amorphous soft magnetic alloy with the nominal composition of Fe83P16Cu1 was produced by melt-spinning technology. After annealed at 563 K for 120 s, the alloy consists of nanosized grains embedded in amorphous matrix. The nanocrystalline soft magnetic alloy shows good soft magnetic properties such as high saturation magnetic flux density 1.65 T and low coercivity 8.7 A/m. The simple composition together with low crystallization temperature and short annealing time make this soft magnetic alloy a promising candidate for industry use.

► Amorphous alloy with the nominal composition of Fe83P16Cu1 was produced. ► Crystallization process takes place at 548 K for 120 s. ► B8000 1.65 T and Hc 8.7 A/m can be obtained when annealed at 563 K for 120 s.
