Abstract
⺠A very high value of cohesive energy for binary nanowires has been obtained. ⺠Magnetic moment per formula unit for binary nanowires is large. ⺠In binary MX nanowires, cohesive properties are steered by the X atoms. ⺠Magnetic properties of binary nanowires are governed by the metal atoms.
