Abstract
⺠DRX preferentially occurred at grain boundaries in the hot rolling of AZ31 alloy. ⺠DRX slightly decreased the starting basal texture of matrix. ⺠DRX did not follow previous orientation gradient from original matrix. ⺠DRX orientation was influenced by the localized strain within shearing bands.
