Abstract
⺠Diffusion and activated complex theories were applied on the carburizing of steel. ⺠Carburizing of steel was investigated by microhardness measurements. ⺠Diffusion coefficient of carbon in the steel was determined. ⺠Thermodynamic quantities by formation an activated complex were determined.
